Surviving the Arctic

For this week, I used Twine to create my game. I have never once created a game or coded in anyway, shape or form so I decided to start small and go with something simple like a choose your own adventure game.

My inspiration for this game comes from a show on Netflix called Alone. It is a survival game show where contestants have to survive in various places with zero contact from anyone else. If they are the last one standing out of about 20 other players, they will win.

They had one season about surviving in the Arctic so I decided to base my game off of that season. I wanted kind of the same experiences and issues that the people were dealing with on the show with out the consequences.

My layout is above. There is only one way to survive the Arctic in my game. And if you survive, you are promised 1 million dollars :).

You start off the game with a full explanation on how you are a contestant of a game show and how you need to survive the longest in order to receive your 1 million dollars. This introduction also explains how you are able to “tap out” and go home at anytime.

You will run into a lot of situations where you have no choice but to “tap out” and go home.

But, with the game, you can always try again.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that you can too SURVIVE THE ARCTIC!
